"Walk The Plank": lyrics and track to practice at home.

“WALK THE PLANK” (GRADE 5 PIRATES)
(Pirates)
If you’re thinking of the future,
And you’d like a life of ease,
If you’d like to make a fortune ‘fore you’re through,
If you’ve ever had a hankering
To sail the seven seas,
Then a pirate’s life is just the life for you.
Yo ho ho! Buccaneering you must go,
If you’d like to make a fortune ‘fore you’re through.
If you’d like a life of pleasure,
Mix in treasure for good measure,
Then a pirate's life is just the life for you!
Hook: (Spoken) Greetings, you dour dollop of doleful dimwits! Because I am a generous Hook, I hereby give you prisoners a choice. Walk the plank... or join our merry pirate crew!
PIRATES:
If you choose to be a pirate it's a choice you won't regret.
You'll have rubies and doubloons to fill the bank.
Be the scourge of all the oceans, yes the choice is up to you.
Bit if you say no, you'll have to walk the plank.
(Pirates)
Yo ho ho! Buccaneering you must go!
So you might as well make up a mind to sign.
If you’d like a share of plunder,
If you care for blood and thunder,
Simply step right up and sign the dotted line!

THE PIRATE CHORUS : Grades 5 and 2

Grade 5 and Grade 2 students will feature as the pirate chorus in "Peter Pan Jr". There are TWO songs they will perform together; "Never Smile at a Crocodile" and "Yo Ho A Pirate's Life for Me".
Please practice the songs. The Lyrics to "Yo Ho A Pirate's Life for Me" are a bit tricky!

"A PIRATE’S LIFE FOR ME" (Grade 2 and 5 Pirates Chorus)
(PIRATES )Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate’s life for me.
We pillage, we plunder, we rifle and loot.
Drink up, me ‘earties, yo ho!
We kidnap and pillage and don’t give a hoot.
Drink up, me ‘earties, yo ho!
Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate’s life for me.
We extort, we pilfer, we filch and sack.
Drink up, me ‘earties, yo ho!
Maraud and embezzle and even highjack.
Drink up, me ‘earties, yo ho!
We’re rascals and scoundrels and ne’er do well cads.
Drink up, me ‘earties, yo ho!
Aye, but we’re loved by our Mommies and Dads…
Drink up me ‘earties, yo ho!

NEVER SMILE AT A CROCODILE (Pirate Chorus and Hook)

[CAPTAIN HOOK]
Never smile at a crocodile.
No, you can’t get friendly with a crocodile.
Don’t be taken in by his welcome grin.
He’s imagining how well you’d fit within his skin.
[PIRATES]
Never smile at a crocodile.
Never tip your hat and stop to talk a while.
Never walk, run away.
Say “Goodnight,” not “Good day.”
Clear the aisle and never smile at Missus Crocodile.

CAPTAIN HOOK: And, Mr. Smee, you know the deepest fear that gnaws at me?
SMEE: What fear is that, Cap’n?
CAPTAIN HOOK: Someday the clock will run down and the beast will sneak up on me … and crunch and gnash and pulverize… until there’s nothing left of me at all!

[PIRATES]
Never smile at a crocodile.
Or you might get eaten by the crocodile.
Yes, it’s true, take a look.
Now (HIS) hand is a hook!
Clear the aisle and never smile at Missus Crocodile. BEGONE!!!!

Peter Pan Jnr Update!

Dear all, I hope you have been practicing your lines and songs for the auditions if you are considering trying out for a speaking role. Remember, this is open to all students in grades 3, 4 and 5. Peter Pan is a very popular musical performed in schools all over the globe. We will be performing a version based on the Disney film and J.M. Barrie's enchanting play, Disney's Peter Pan JR, a modern version of the timeless tale about a boy who wouldn't grow up... with SOME flying required! New arrangements of classic Disney songs and a story featuring one rousing adventure after another will guarantee a fantastic show. Remember: this is MUSICAL THEATRE! Musical theatre combines music, songs, spoken dialogue and dance. Also called 'musicals', they are usually performed in theatres. Musicals set out to entertain through a combination of: Catchy music in a popular style, solo songs, duets, choruses and ensembles, orchestra or band accompaniment, spoken dialogue, dance sequences, stage spectacles and magnificent costumes! You can find many examples of Peter Pan Jnr on the internet. This is a version of "You Can Fly", one of the more well known songs, from a children's production.
