PETER PAN JR. ‘SOARS’

Disney’s PETER PAN JR.
Playing at the OVERSEAS SCHOOL OF COLOMBO

On the 3rd and 4th of November 2016 - Disney’s PETER PAN JR. is playing at the Overseas School of Colombo for 2 performance through. The 60-minute musical, designed for young performers, is based on the play by J.M. Barrie and the 1953 Disney film. The primary school cast contains approximately 200 students

Peter Pan JR. is the story of the boy who wouldn’t grow up and the girl who has to. After finding his shadow in the Darling family nursery, Peter teaches Wendy, Michael and John how to fly and sweeps them off to Never Land, where they meet Lost Boys, mermaids, indians and, of course, pirates.  If the children are ever to return home, Peter must defeat Captain Hook with the help of Tinker Bell and her fairy friends. Peter Pan JR. features classic songs from the 1953 film such as, “You Can Fly!,” “Following the Leader” and “The Second Star to the Right” as well as songs from the Pirates of the Caribbean ride and the 2008 Disney film Tinker Bell.

A performance of Disney’s PETER PAN JR. is open to the public at 3:30 pm Thursday 3rd November and 6:30 pm Friday 4th November on. Admission is 500 LKR and tickets will be available for presale as all will be numbered.

Mermaid's song "Sunbeams and Sea"

MERMAIDS:
'Sunbeams and Sea' ( Part One)

Wendy: Look, the mermaids of Never Land! I have to meet them!
Peter: But Wendy, we gotta find Hook!
MERMAIDS:

You can have mermaids’ lovely tresses
You can have scales instead of skin
No need to stand, the sea feels grand!
Slippery smooth from head to fin
Come and join, come and join, come and join us!
Come and swim the never-ending tide.
You can’t know how it feels,
What the sea reveals,When you’re dry upon the other side.
Coral and seaweed ‘stead of dresses.
Shimmery light as fish fly by
Air can feel thin till gills grow in
Then it’s whoosh and the land good-bye

'Sunbeams and Sea' ( Part Two)

Peter: Wait, Wendy, no!
Wendy: Why not?
Andrina: Let us have her for a week below the waves!
Arista: She can tell us stories about you, Peter.
Atina: What's it like to fly with him?
Peter: They'll pull you down and keep you there. They'll forget you need to come up for air!

ARISTA:
You have to take a leap, Jump in the tale you’re telling

MERMAIDS:
Dreams aren’t just for sleep.
Living them’s more compelling.
Peter: Thanks, girls, We can take it from here.
Mermaids: Goodbye, Peter!
Wendy: I have and idea! Come here...

Songs for Grade 3 "Following The Leader"

“FOLLOWING THE LEADER” –

[LOST KIDS]
Following the leader, the leader, the leader,
We’re off on an adventure to capture Indian Scouts.

[MICHAEL] This feels kinda silly

[JOHN]Yeah

[MICHAEL]But I kinda like it.

[JOHN] Yeah!

Just march with us,
Be part of the brotherhood
And as you march
You’re gonna stay young for good.
We march and march
‘cause Lost Boys never grow up.

[CUBBY]Hi! I’m Cubby!
[SKUNK]I’m Skunk!
[FOX] I’m Fox!
[RACCOONS]We’re Raccoons!
[HOP]I’m Hop!
(SKIPPY) Skippy!

[LOST KIDS]
We’ll be kids forever, forever, forever
We never will abandon our merry little band
We’ll never have to go home,
Do housework or homework.
No one ever grows up,
Not here in Never Land.

[HOP]We’re close to the Indians! Shhhh!

[INDIANS]
Following the Lost Boys, the Lost Boys, the Lost Boys,
Following the Lost Boys, before they can catch us.
The Lost Boys cannot track us, they want to attack us.
We won’t let them attack us and so we track ‘em thus.

[BRAVE PINE]Shh, I think see them!

[BRAVE OAK] I don’t see them!

[BRAVE SHRUB]you mean those animals?

[BRAVE PINE] Those aren’t animals! Those are boys – in camouflage!

[BRAVE OAK, BRAVE SHRUB] Oh…..

We’re on the trial to capture the Indian Scouts.
We’ll capture boys, of that there are no doubts.
The fight, we’ll win and boy,
We’re going to have fun!

The boys’ll be lost when native braves
One by one on stealthy feet,
We spring a trap with no retreat,.
‘cause when the boys can’t run_____ we’ve won!
